I am Theresa Moe, I am a product chemistry manager and analytical team leader at Dow AgroSciences. I actually have two roles and the first part is the product chemistry manager, and in that role we do the physical property testing on our active ingredients as well as our formulated products. So, what's actually sprayed on the field. When I say physical property testing, that can be as simple as color and odor and it can be more complex as UV VIS, water solubility, studies like that. So those studies will go onto our SDS as well as in our package that's submitted for regulatory submission in addition to the physical property studies we'll also develop and validate methods used to analyze for active ingredients in our formulated products, and then we'll develop and validate methods to use for our impurities in our active ingredients. Typically we would use HPLC and GC for that type of work. That all goes into the registration package as well, and then the third part of my job then would be what we call a batch analysis study. So we'll take five different vats of our active ingredients, analyze it for anything that could possibly be in there, inorganics, processed related impurities, residual solvents, things like that, and we'll develop an impurity profile. Then based on that impurity profile, we'll set the maximum limit for our impurities in each of the active ingredients and that's why our manufacturing plants we'll use to release product. So we always have to be in compliance with our impurity profile.
